She honed her broadcast writing skills as a web producer and new media reporter for Memphis' NBC/CNN news affiliate. Aisling regularly executed breaking news coverage on the station's website and reported her own weekly on-air segment focused on web-related news and trends.
In 2005, Aisling co-created the Mid-South's
first comprehensive website for families with children. She has also developed and managed successful social media campaigns for news outlets, non-profits and small businesses.
Aisling is a passionate memoirist and award-winning fiction writer. In 2000, she was recognized for best short story in UConn's Myriads LIterary Journal for
Evangeline, a portait of a lonely woman in 1950's rural Ireland who sought solace through the lens of her camera. In 2006, Aisling won Memphis Magazine's Fiction Grand Prize for her story
Bird Life, the comedic quest of two sisters intent on proving the existence of the ivory-billed woodpecker.
As a history major at the University of Connecticut, Aisling won the highest honor for excellence in history, as well as awards for community service.
